Cetylpyridinium chloride is a quaternary ammonium compound and is the active chemical in some human mouthwashes on the market. It has antiseptic properties and is used in solutions or lozenges for the treatment of minor infections of the mouth and throat.
This product is a cationic surfactant, mainly used as disinfectant. It also can be used in industrial water treatment system of sterilization and algae removal, slime stripping and cleaning system. It can be used in the field of food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, daily necessities, industrial additives, surfactants, precision electroplating, water treatment, oil field chemicals and other industries.
Cetylpyridinium Chloride belongs to nitrogen cationic surfactants, mainly used as disinfectant sterilization. Under the same conditions, the killing rate of the product for heterotrophic bacteria, iron bacteria and sulfate reducing bacteria is better than dodecyl dimethyl phenyl methyl ammonium chloride, dodecyl dimethyl phenyl methyl ammonium bromide and other commonly used quaternary ammonium salt fungicides. For example, at the dosage of 10mg/L, the killing rates of heterotrophic bacteria, iron bacteria and sulfate reducing bacteria were 99.9%,99.9% and 99.99% respectively.

It belongs to cationic surfactant, which can be produced by reacting cetyl chloride with pyridine at 120~150°C. 1. Preservatives and biocides
Cetylpyridinium Chloride is used as a disinfectant in the field of medicine, which can effectively kill or inhibit the growth of many kinds of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi and some viruses.
